NBA champion and Hall-of-Famer Rick Barry poses with Dubs fans at the second ‘All for Dub Nation’ Warriors Watch Party at Social Hall in San Francisco on February 23. The event sold out within 45 minutes of tickets becoming available. Among those in attendance were former Warriors Antawn Jamison, Muggsy Bogues and Hall-of-Famer Rick Barry, who led the Warriors to the NBA title in 1975.
“I love watching [Stephen Curry] play,” says Barry. “Nobody has played the point guard position like him.” The fans in attendance at Social Hall in San Francisco would have to agree, as Curry put up 20 points via an array of circus shots in the decisive third quarter. “I’m just embracing where the game is today,” adds Bogues, who as a scoring point guard very much appreciates how players like Curry, Chris Paul and James Harden are redefining the position with their mix of shooting, scoring around the basket, superb ball-handling and court-vision. As Curry was putting on his unique show across the bay in Oakland, fans got to take in the game at one of the San Francisco’s most historic events spaces. Memorabilia from the Warriors’ 70 year history, including all four championship trophies the team has won, were spread across the space, while the event also featured a premium open bar and gourmet food options to fit all dining sensibilities. It was topped off with a smorgasbord of sweet treats courtesy of Johnny Doughnuts, a San Francisco establishment known for its organic, locally-sourced fare. Warriors fans pose with all four of the team’s NBA Championship trophies at the second ‘All for Dub Nation’ Watch Party this season.
